What is the Technopreneurship Badge?

The Technopreneurship Badge is a system that identifies and certifies startups with technology- and innovation-focused, scalable business models.

Who Can Apply?

Independent businesses established in Türkiye with SME status are eligible to apply. A maximum of 15 years must have passed since their establishment.

How Does the Application Process Work?

Applications are submitted through teknogirisim.insayi.gov.tr ​​and the required documents are uploaded. If any missing documents are detected, the startup is given 90 days to submit.

What Are the Evaluation Criteria?

If your application successfully passes the preliminary review, it will be evaluated based on the startup's R&D capacity, the innovative and original aspects of the outputs, its contribution to national and global technological development, its economic and social impact, its growth performance, and its scalability potential.

What should I do if my application is rejected?

You can object in writing within 15 business days of receiving the decision. Your objection will be reviewed and decided by the Objection Evaluation Committee.

How long is the Technopreneurship Badge valid for?

The Technopreneurship Badge is valid for three years. At the end of this period, a new application must be made to renew the badge.

Can the Technopreneurship Badge be revoked?

Yes, the badge can be revoked if the startup fails to meet the requirements or fails to meet the criteria.

Do I have any obligations after receiving the Technopreneurship Badge?

Yes, if there are changes to the criteria specified in the legislation, the startup must notify the General Directorate of this change within 90 days.

What are the requirements for direct certification?

Applications from startups that have met any of the following requirements within the last three (3) years as of the application date are directly considered for certification:

Receiving approval from Technology Development Zones (TGB),

Receiving approval from KOSGEB TEKMER,

Receiving support under the TÜBİTAK 1512 (BIGG) or 1812 (BIGG Investment) programs, or continuing the support process.

Badge holders are obligated to meet the conditions that allow them to receive their badge throughout its validity period. They are also required to meet the General Directorate's information and document requests.
